Columbia Audubon Society

The Columbia Audubon Society is one of the 14 chapters of the National Audubon Society in Missouri. The chapter was organized in 1958 and serves 6 counties: Audrain, Boone, Cooper, Howard, Monroe, and Randolph.

General meetings are scheduled for 7:30 pm on the third Wednesday of the month.

Our meetings (September through April) are held at the Unitarian-Universalist Church, 2615 Shepard Blvd., Columbia, Missouri. Directions: From Stadium Blvd. - the first stoplight west of Highway 63 is Audubon Drive. Go north on Audubon to the stop sign. Turn right on Shepard Blvd. and the church is on the left about 100 yards. From Old Highway 63 - Shepard Blvd. is a half-mile south of Broadway and a half-mile north of Stadium Blvd. A Phillips 66 station is on the corner. Turn east on Shepard Blvd. and go to the end of the road. The church is the last building on the left. There is plenty of parking. Directions inside the church: Come in the south (main) door and go straight ahead. We will meet in the large sanctuary on the right. Hospitality will be in the main foyer.

The May meeting is a pot-luck picnic at the Wild Haven nature area. Summer meetings are combined field trips to local birding areas and then a visit to a nearby restaurant for food and fun. The December meeting is replaced with the Christmas Bird Count Chili Supper.
